Reference Scenario

A reference scenario is a term which describes a possible emergency in an organization.

Being prepared for the occurrence of such a scenario is paramount.

The right managerial decisions based on an existing state of affairs, including examining the probability and definition of the level of threat and number of vulnerabilities, reflects on the actions required by the organization in order to continue working during an emergency.

Examples of reference scenarios:

A military conflict, natural disaster, terror organization, pandemic, social unrest etc.

Every one of these scenarios can have different implications on the organization, which is why it is important to map out organization, human-resource, strategic suppliers needs, while determining and defining the necessary factors to the organization’s continued operation during an emergency.

These consequences should be defined against the business effects as well as building an orderly work plan, according to the reference scenario.
